Great lessons learnt article, it's good to see the hygiene aspect pointed out, at the very best it can make the world of difference to your multiday run, at the simplest level it just increases your comfort and that can only be a good thing.

I do like the washing 'machine' idea. Though, I think if we'd have had those when I did it the excitement would have been too much for perkyl8r who even brought her own washing line along!
    Cheers,
    Mike

    Hi Jamile,
Good re lessons learn't, we cover all this at Desert Runnner Training Camps, which is why we do them, pity more don't come on them as it would make the race far more enjoyable, drives me mad to read so many trashed feet stories. You seem to have got through it pretty well. How about Al Andalus for your next venture:)

    Jamile,
Superb mate. enjoyed your blog, a great read. must have taken you a while to write so thanks for taking the time to do it and sharing it. the video was immense. i loved the footage at the start line. Brought all the emotion back to me.
a friend of mine (Ray) who i met on the mds this year has set up a reunion page on facebook for folk to share pics, blogs, stories etc. if your on FB perhaps you could join the group and your links.... it's called '26th MdS reunion page'. There are few members on it now and i'm sure your story would be well received.
    Congrats on a great effort.
From your blog i had a wee peak at the cross the divide website and may well be entering the grand canyon 24 hr challenge as a result, so thanks for the heads up on them.
